COOPERSTOWN, New York -- The ballots for the 2010 Texas Sports Writers" Association All-State Softball Team are in the hands of sports writers across the state and are supposed to be returned by Monday. The plan, according to the TSWA website (www.txswa.org) is for the ballots to be returned today and compilation will occur with the planned release by newspapers on July 4th. Go to your local newspaper or the TSWA website to get the final list after July 4th. I will try to post the list if I can get to where I have internet access while up in Maine next week -- if not, I will post when I get to a place in which I can access the internet (sometime after July 8th).

Baden new "official" ball for UIL sports PDF Print E-mail

I recieved this email this morning (forwarded from my Athletic Director) concerning changes in official balls for the UIL starting in 2010-2011 and going for the next five years. I haven"t seen an official UIL announcement yet, but assume one will come shortly.

Hi Coaches,

Baden Sports is proud to announce it will be the Official Ball in all sports for the UIL beginning in the 2010-2011 school year!  We know you must have questions about how this will affect your programs. If you can reply with a list of your coaches names and e-mails that would greatly appreciated. Here are some answers to frequently asked questions about this new agreement:

When does the adoption go into effect and for how long?

The adoption begins immediately with 2010 fall sports.  The agreement is for five years.

Which models will be used in each sport?

To see a list of the newly adopted UIL Baden balls, please see the attachment.

What is the free ball program?

As you may have heard, Baden will be providing one free ball to every program in the state to celebrate this announcement. While Baden footballs were sent out prior to spring ball, balls for all other sports will be sent to the Athletic Director’s attention at each school later this summer. More details on this free ball program will follow in the coming weeks.

Where can I buy Baden products?

Baden products will be available at your local dealer.  If you are having any trouble locating a dealer, please let us know and we will help you find one.

Please pass this information to your coaches so all are aware of the change.  Also, please feel free to contact me directly with any questions you may have about Baden, our products, and our new status as the Official Ball in Texas.  We look forward to providing you with excellent quality and service for years to come!

Best Regards,

Brandon

FINAL SOFTBALL COACHES EMAIL FOR 2009-2010 PDF Print E-mail

Monday, 07 June 2010 11:35

I wanted to send an email at the end of the school year to thank everyone for a great 2010 softball season and thank all of you for your support of our efforts to keep improving our game! I will begin to post for the 2011 season in the middle of August when school starts.

Here are some things that I need from you before school starts in August:

  • If you are changing schools, please let me know with your new email so I can get that changed.
  • If you are going to no longer coach softball, please let me know.
  1. If you still want to receive emails (we have retired coaches on our list), I will be happy to keep you on the list.
  2. If you are at the same school, please forward the new coach’s email to me or let the new coach know of our service.
  • If your email address changes, please let me know as well.

Please do me a favor this summer if you are in the above situations because it takes me about a month at the beginning of school to clear and correct my lists, so if I have corrections early, it will save me a lot of time.

If you can send me your career record, please do so as soon as possible. I’m going to be working on the records section of www.texasprepsoftball.net in the next two weeks to update the records.
